Mac Propaganda:

  • The EvangeList Web Site - http://www.evangelist.macaddict.com run by Apple's Guy Kawasaki. This site contains searchable archives of Guy's MacWay EvangeList, a mailing list that spreads news, opinions, and pro-Mac messages from Guy and list readers called EvangeListas. Some of the stuff is pretty hard-core, such as action items calling for EvangeListas to lobby software companies to develop Mac versions. But there are many useful items like job openings and discounts on products. And you can use the list to find niche software. The Web site also has a well-organized set of technical support links. Mac Requests - http://macrequests.pair.com is a pro-Mac site with a different twist. Mac Requests asks visitors which programs they wish were available for the Mac and lobbies developers with the requests they receive. Mac Requests also lists applications, utilities, and games that have been recently ported to the Mac.

  • Apple's QuickTime VR Web site - http://www.quicktimevr.apple.com has links to dozens of sites with interactive QuickTime VR files. (You need the QuickTime plug-in, which comes with Navigator 3 and Mac OS 7.6 and 8.0.) With the links here, you can take a tour of Disneyland or maneuver around the surface of Mars. I'm partial to wandering through the tunnels of the Great Pyramid at Nova Online Pyramids
  • http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/nova/pyramid and exploring the Roman ruins at Virtual Roma
  • http://www.webcomp.com/virtuale. Windows users can access the QuickTime VR sites, too, because there's a Windows version of the QuickTime plug-in. It's just part of the Macification of the Web.
