Summary

C31G is a potent broad spectrum antimicrobial surfactant mixture. Except for the microbiological procedures, scintillation of the radioactive form of this mixture is the only assay method reported. In this paper, a new, sensitive and a reproducible colonmetric assay method based on the formation of Reineckate complex in the acidic medium is presented. Obedience to Beer's law permitted the successful application of this proposed assay method for the performance of the content uniformity testing from the formulated vaginal suppositories.

Key words
