Abstract

Tb³⁺ luminescence is enhanced by complex formation in aqueous phase or by matrix effects in solid or rigid phase. In this thesis, experiments and theoretical verifications are made on the terbium ion luminescence; (1) studied in glassy states, (2) studied in aqueous phases as its pyridine 2,6 dicarboxylate (known as dipicolinate, pda^2-) complexes.
