Ünsal
Çalış was born in Ankara in 1955. He has completed his high school
education in Ankara and has graduated from Hacettepe University, Faculty
of Pharmacy in 1979. In the same year he has joined the Department of
Organic Chemistry as a research assistant. In 1982, he has completed his
M.Sc. thesis entitled Quality Control Methods for Gestogen Preparations
Present in Turkey Market and joined to Department of Pharmaceutical
Chemistry for Ph.D. studies. In 1987 he finalized his Ph.D. thesis
entitled Studies on 2-Acetylnaphtalene Derivatives During the years of
1991-1993 he studied in the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy,
Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutics for post doctoral
experience. In the year of 1994 and 1997 he was assigned as Assistant
Professor and Associate Professor respectively in Department of
Pharmaceutical Chemistry in Faculty of Pharmacy of Hacettepe University
and at 2003 had the full professorship position. He has various research articles published in scientific journals, presentations, book chapters and completed research projects as a project
coordinator. He was married to Sema Çalış (Ph.D.)
who is a Professor in Pharmaceutical Technology Department in the
same Faculty and has
two children.
