Solution of Engineering Problems Using ANSYS

Course starts with a brief introduction to Finite Element Method. After the inroduction, installation of ANSYS is shown to the stuednts. Menus on the ANSYS screen are introduced to the students. First 2 dimensional heat transfer and strength of material problems are solved. Solution of a problems starts with geometry creation, meshing and ends with application of loads. Then possible nonlinearity of these problems are considered (Nonlinear thermal problems, Plasticity problems etc). Then 3 dimensional problems are shown to the students.Creation of a 3D model by meshing, extrusion and revolving of 2d model is shown and solution of these problems are done. Briefly solution of Contact problems and fracture mechanics problemsare shown to the students. Finally very briefly APDL programming is taught.
