Course objective:

  • To comprehend and analyse the dynamic behaviours of chemical process systems,
  • To comprehend the process control techniques and desing the chemical process control systems,
  • To perform the simulations of chemical process control systems with the help of Matlab and Simulink.

Learning outcomes:

  • To learn the basic principles, the characteristics and the requirements of chemical processes control,
  • To analyze the dynamic behavior of the process by making mathematical modele of chemical processes,
  • To solve model equations by using Laplace transformation,
  • To understand feed-back/ feed forward control systems and components, to create block diagrams by learning the analysis of the feedback control systems and to derive the transfer function for the complete control system,
  • To detect the stability of the system by using the dynamic analysis results with different methods and to make the selection of the required control type in a chemical process,
  • To understand the issues of various types of control strategies and controllers, controlling the parameters set,
  • To perform the simulation of chemical process control system using MATLAB SIMULINK program.
