Özet -- Abstract 

ABSTRACT

Nowadays in computer based learning, introduction of new technologies and reshaping activities according to these technologies face us as an important educational aspect. On the other hand, how private institutions perceive Learning Management System (LMS) and internet based educational applications are especially important for effective application of this type of activities in formal education institutions.

In this study, the structure of Learning Management System and the opinion of the employees of the companies which are dealing with distance education are investigated.

In the questionnaire, participant were asked to list the choices from the most important to the least for each item and these lists were evaluated accordingly.

The opinion of the participant can be listed follow:

• Learning Management System is an important element for the presentation of online contents in internet based learning and for keeping the records.
• Communication in internet based learning is important and the most important advantage of it is eliminating the boundaries of time and location.
• Internet based learning programs should support the traditional learning.
• For the purpose of increasing internet based learning activities in Turkey, the first of the basic improvements that have to be done is “quality and cheaper internet connection”.
