Course objective:
- To train chemical engineers who has the knowledge to design chemical processes and make projects.
- To teach basic methods and computer-aided design applications which are used for equipment and process design.
- To teach the methods of calculation of fixed investment and operating costs.
- To introduce students to design applications in the industry.
Learning outcomes:
- To make the selection of a process of a chemical manufacturing process , to do market research on a global, to examine the economic parameters and national scale, to prepare the feasibility report.
- To create the flow diagram of a selected plant and to determine the inlet and outlet flows in the processes of the plant.
- To establish mass and energy conservation equations for a chemical process
- To make the process and equipment designs for a chemical production plant using computer programs and to write the design report in a foreign language
- To make the assessments of a process in terms of environment, safety and sustainability
- To do individual and team work
