▪    Advanced Materials Processing Lab  (2002-2006):   Analyzed the heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics and kinetics during crystal growth in powders produced in a thermal spray.  Developed a new mathematical model for dendritic crystal growth by integrating the physics and thermodynamics due to nonequilibrium solute partitioning and compared existing models numerically.  Solved multi-coupled, multivariate systems of nonlinear algebraic equations using a new multi-grid algorithm in MATLAB.  Computed metastable phase diagrams and free energy curves using thermodynamic-solution models and estimated parameters in multivariate, nonlinear systems.  Conducted graduate level lectures on Thermodynamics of Materials.

▪    Thermofluids Lab  (2000-2002):  Developed a computational fluid dynamics model using CFD-ACE software for unix workstations to represent the growth of metal/semiconductor nano-particles during solid phase polymerization.  Conducted research on synthesis and application of carbon nano-tubes and fibers, and in molecular electronics to identify heat transfer problems that required mathematical modeling.
