Prepare 20 minute power-point lectures in English to teach the topic.

Give introductory information on the above topics first, list examples and application areas.

List advantages and disadvantages.

Do not load your slides with many pictures and words, organize and distribute accordingly.

Keep your slides simple but neat and to the point.

Refer to scientific journal papers.

List all references used.

Make sure to avoid plagiarism.

Use your own words for any explanations.

Be ready to answer 2-3 questions from the audience at the end of the presentation.

 

Content should include information on:

- Definition of the topic (what is the topic about?)

- Explanation of the machining method and mechanism

- Brief history of the method (1 slide only)

- Type of tools that the method involve

- Examples of application areas and materials

- Advantages and disadvantages


Your presentation format should include (but is not limited to) the following:
- A title slide including the title of your presentation, your name and affiliation, date and place
- A slide showing an outline of your speech
- A slide explaining the goals of your presentation
- Slides explaining the material (should have font size minimum 20pt, i.e. readable by the audience; should be bulleted, i.e. do not use long paragraphs)
- References next to pictures and figures adopted from web or literature
- A conclusion/summary slide

 

Preparing the presentation, you should:

- Plan accordingly and start working early

- Avoid unclear content in the slides

- Make clear and brief slides and statements

- Practice and time your slides not to exceed the time limitation

 

During the presentation, you should:

- Know what you are talking about

- Use time efficiently

- Look professional

- Act professional

- Do not read the information on the slides but provide explanations in your own words

- Be ready to answer a few questions in a professional manner
