Teaching


Teaching Assistant (CI407/507- Principles and Practices of Flexible and Distance Learning, with Dr Niki Davis, ISU): During the Fall 2007, I was offered to be a teaching assistant of Flexible and Distance Learning course. My roles included helping course instructor to deliver the online course, facilitate class discussions, and organize course activities. I gained valuable feedback from the instructor regarding with my roles, strengths and parts that need to be improved as a TA all of which has certainly helped my growth as a future faculty. Additionally, a paper developed out of this process was presented at SITE 2008 conference.

Teaching Assistant at Hacettepe University: I worked as a teaching assistant in a number of courses at Hacettepe University, Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology. Some of the courses I co-taught with the faculty included BTO 102 – Information Technologies in Education I-II with Dr Sadi Seferoglu, BTO 306 – Project Development with Dr Buket Akkoyunlu, BTO 387 – Instructional Technologies & Material Development with Dr Mukaddes Erdem, BTO 404 – Design, Development & Evaluation of Educational Software with Dr Petek Askar, and BTO 493 – School Experience II with Dr Yasemin Kocak Usluel. My roles in these courses were mainly guiding students in instructional multimedia material development, website design, and educational software development processes (semester projects), preparing assignments, and evaluating student projects.

In addition, I taught a Computer Literacy course for three semesters. My roles included preparing class materials including activities, quizzes, and exams, giving lectures, and assessing student learning.
